Town of Washington Issued State of Emergency Effective 10/28/24

The Hudson Valley region is currently experiencing severe drought conditions and many Dutchess County municipalities, including the Town of Washington, are declaring states of emergency that prohibit all outdoor burning which includes yard waste, campfires and outdoor fireplaces. Even though outdoor burning within the Village of Millbrook is never allowed, please know that this state of emergency for the Town of Washington also includes Village residents.

Additionally, even though the current levels of our water source is adequate, I am requesting that customers of our water service voluntarily minimize water usage until precipitation returns to normal. More severe restrictions may be forthcoming in the near future if the drought continues and begins to affect our water supply.
